Question #1:  What are the typical housekeeping rates for a Half Day Stay?

Answer: Since the stay is much shorter, the need for a full clean for a weekly rental is not required. Most Half Day Stay hosts charge $30.

 

Question #2:  What if the guests make a big mess that takes longer to tidy up?

Answer: We have an authorized buffer payment of $50 that the host can charge for the extra cleaning.

Question #3:  How do I list my property on Half Day Stay?

Answer: To list your property, simply sign up on our platform, link your payout information to your Stripe account, fill in the details about your property, set your availability, and submit your listing.  It's that easy!

Question #4: Can I set my own check-in and check-out times for Half Day Stay?

Answer:  Given that the typical check-out time for most short-term rentals is around 11am, we have set the Half Day Stays from 11am to 11pm.  This schedule maximizes the property's availability and aligns with guests' expectations for flexible, convenient access throughout the day.

 

Question #5:  Is there a fee for listing my property on Half Day Stay?

Answer:  Listing your property is free. However, Half Day Stay charges a 5% commission on bookings made through our platform. This commission rate is competitive and designed to cover the costs of marketing your property, providing 24/7 support and maintaining and upgrading our platform and its features.  We also donate proceeds to local Hawaiian charities.

Question #6:  How does Half Day Stay handle security deposits?

Answer:  We do not hold a security deposit but we do hold a $50 buffer payment for extra cleaning or incidentals.  If there are bigger issues, Half Day Stay will investigate the incident and charge the guest for the damage.

 

Question #7:  What support does Half Day Stay offer to hosts?

Answer:  Our platform offers comprehensive support to hosts, including a dedicated host service team available 24/7 for any queries or issues, marketing assistance to help your listing stand out, and access to our platform to manage your bookings seamlessly.

Question #8:  How does Half Day Stay ensure guest quality?

Answer:  We vet guests using a review system and require guests to provide a valid credit card to book. Hosts also have the ability to set specific requirements for guests, such as minimum age or past booking history on the platform, to further ensure quality and safety.

 

Question #9:  Can I offer special amenities or experiences to Half Day Stay guests?

Answer:  Absolutely! We encourage hosts to offer unique amenities or local experiences to enhance guests' stays. This can range from providing access to a private pool to arranging guided tours, and it's a great way to differentiate your listing and attract more bookings.

 

Question #10:  What happens if a guest cancels a Half Day Stay booking?

Answer:  Our cancellation policy is designed to protect both hosts and guests.  Guest will have up to 24 hours before check in date to cancel a booking without penalty.  If the cancellation falls within the 24 hours, the guest will be charged the full amount.
